Powers Bottling Hall, Drury St. Dublin.

INSIGHT:
For this project I was tasked with designing the packaging of the Baby Powers Whiskey case to comemmorate the Powers Quarter and celebrate the 130 year anniversary of their bottling hall on Drury Street in Dublin City.

INSPIRATION:
The inspiration for this project was simple. Powers is a brand that takes extreme pride & honour in its roots, built by the people for the people.  A reputation built on carving out its own roadmap in the whiskey industry, refusing to follow trends but rather introduce their own.
Giving nods to its bold, authentic history through the packagiing was vital to honour the companys identity and spirit.

SOLUTION:
The front of the packaging features an illustration of the iconic copper pot stills that have became an emblem of John's Lane, the home of the original Powers Distillery.
Paired with that is a grained texture throughout that symbolises the malted and unmalted barley used in the process of creating the whiskey. The back contains images of importance such as the bottling hall, John's Lane and the former head office. These images give the consumer a snapshot into Powers' storied history.
Scanning the QR code beneath allows the consumer to discover a more in-depth timeline of the Powers story.
